To support steady progress, students should plan to rent or buy a harp for home practice. Reading music helps but is not required to begin. For learners as young as 6, a helpful guide is the ability to stay focused through a 30-minute lesson and practice about 15 minutes daily, with an open, can-do attitude and enrichment like listening to harp recordings or attending concerts and harp circles.
